Arrive, get your key, get shown to your room, move your stuff in, send your emabrassing parents home, mill around, drink (if NH decide to open the bars...) get addressed by the Warden and JCR, meet your week 1 reps, have dinner, go to the freshers' address in the sports centre, go back to your hall, drink more, go to bed. Get up, probably go to breakfast (won't happen again in week 1) buy week 1 party tickets, have lunch, hang around in your block, get free stuff from freshers' fayre, go to dinner, assemble some sort of makeshift costume for the night's party, go to the bar, drink, go to the party, get back, sleep, have a horrible hangover, repeat ad nauseam.

I was at SPC so might be different to on campus.

Got there on the Saturday not Sunday (think you can only move in Sunday on campus). Had to wait 3 hours in the common room for my key (as did everyone else whos deposit didnt go through before start of term, if you can, pay the first term before you get there). Then got my key went to my room started putting all my stuff in. Flatmate arrived. Did my room, sent the parents away. Met up with someone from TSR for an hour at SPC. Went to Bar Risa at 7 on a coach. Came back, mingled with the flats next to ours. Slept.

Sunday, bouncy castle thing at SPC with free drink and food. Another two flatmates arrived. Hung out with the other flats. Went to Freshers Address thing on campus. Came back. Then Monday course related stuff happens like meeting your tutor/getting timetable/picking options/freshers fayre/buying week one tickets.

Is there a time, when we need to arrive? Will it be really crowded? the corridors might be small (southwell)

yea im in southwell. also whats 'freshers address'.

Freshers Address is basically when everyone from all the halls go to the sports centre (about 6pm) and then half of you stand outside while the others go in (because its not big enough) and you learn chants about the other halls, then when they come out, you all sing at them and then you go in and sit down from what i can remember it goes dark n music plays n then you watch this video off a mahoosive screen about uni, its quite funny, talks bout safe sex and drinking, and the head of student body gives a little speech. Its not as boring as it sounds.

Most people arrive between 11-3ish although some arrive earlier/later. Dinner is at 5-7 on Jubilee where Southwell is so its probably better to arrive earlier.

Get them to buy you lunch, then make them go! You would be missing out by not staying in your room for the first night.

It's all about going to the ark that Sunday after freshers address... or, I'm sorry, 'the venue' or 'mooch' or whatever the **** they are doing to the ark at the moment... I did that and it was awesome.

its slightly different for Broadgate Park as well - you have the choice of either moving in on saturday or sunday. I would strongly reccommend saturday. Not only does it give you more time to unpack before the hectic week one stuff begins, it gives you more chance to meet people in your flat, and more chance to socialise as the bar is opened on the saturday when we begin the 9 day bender that is a Broadgate Week One!
hey guys, sounds great and all with the whole moving in thing for the first day into our accommodations, but what about registration?

Does it not happen the same time? I was told it did. Or does it happen on the monday?

Also where is the freshers' fayre taking place?
Freshers fayre is outside the sports hall on the grass.

Registration happens in the sportshall throughout weekone.

Your school will have a particular time to register. You'll get the information in the post at some point.
Wonderful...thank you
