Noticeably harder in my opinion than AS English Literature. If you get an E or D for AS then I would resit a couple of modules if you are aiming for a B overall. If you get an E at AS that would be a max UMS score of 149/300. Bearing in mind you need 420/600 for a B overall you would need it get 271/300 for A2 English Literature- in other words a high A or 90%. If you resit and bring up your UMS score then you would make life much easier for yourself.

It's possible, but you'd definitely need to resit at least one AS module, preferably two, and obviously work a lot harder next year. In my experience, A2 is obviously harder than AS, like in any other subject, but not that much harder really. For example, I got 237/300 at AS just by working normally, then 239/300 at A2 when I was really giving it everything I had. So even though I got roughly the same result in both years, I had to work a lot harder to get that at A2 than I did at AS. Do the resits in January so they don't interfere with your A2 modules. Oh, and my number 1 tip would be to really make the most of coursework if you do it. I managed to get 84/90 on my A2 coursework, even though I only got 79/90 on the easier, shorter AS coursework, just by putting a lot more effort in, and although it wasn't quite enough to get me an A overall in the end, I wouldn't have had a problem if I'd done the same at AS.

I completely agree, I mistakenly believed AS would be like GCSE and didnt revise, I already had 86/90 in my coursework and I eneded up with a C! I was completley shocked and gutted. I redid two modules at January and got full marks 120/120 and 65/90 in them. Its really worth getting the points in the AS papers.

I was in a similar situation. Went to an awful school sixth form with awful teachers. Ended up with an E in AS English. I then moved to a sixth form college sat my A2 recived BCC overall. Resat my AS this year, I hope it'll go up to a C - I think I'm roughly on a D at the moment - 17 marks off of a C. I hope I'm right.
