Poster rules

I'm moving into halls at Bangor in a week for the first time and I just wanted to know how strict poster rules usually are. I have some posters I plan to take with me to make the place a bit more homely but in the regulations for the accommodation it tells you not to put posters on the walls. How strict is this usually in halls? I have some of those command poster strips that don't make marks, as long as I didn't cause any marks on the walls would it be a big deal?
Depends if your halls do room checks.
Usually as long as you don't leave any marks, the university will be fine with it. At least, that was the case with me. In my halls there were cleaners coming in every week and maintenance people if there were any problems - they clearly saw my posters and didn't do anything. I used minimal white tack and when I took the posters down it wasn't obvious that anything had been there.
