    guys,
    the thing is a mobile phone was handed in 2 weeks a go, and i took it in. as the store was very busy, i left it under the counter and didnt think more of it. there were about 6 people behind the till at the time. the next day the owner came to see if it was given in and told yes. the phone was missing and the owner, expectedly annoyed.
    wat is likely to happen? if there is an investigation will people be interviewd on their next shift or when things like this happen, are they called in prior to their first shift?

    Depends on the management really. There might be a fair investigation, or (as in the case of my friend), all of the shop floor staff get punished.

    Does the store have an established procedure for lost and found?

    Where you aware of the procedure?

    Did you tell your line manager about the phone being handed in?

    Did you have good reason for not following the procedure (if you did)?

    1)needs to be taken up2 security, howevr before we'd keep for a few hours to see if owner comes back
    2)not given loss prevention training
    3)no, howver other emembers of staff present
    the store was really busy and too many customers present and dint think anymore about it.(well known dept store)
