Dull Q maybe...but do ALL exam boards give UMS marks and a grade?
UMS marks, yes. The grade depends on whether or not your school/college cashes in.

Physics: 291
Computing: 289
Psychology: 275
Further Maths: 245 (oops)

Why 'oops'? It's an A!!

Anyway...

253, 255, 256, 263, 273 (oh, and 226 for Maths which I've now dropped).

I'm going to break all your lovely, perfected scores now.

Business: 237 (b)
Economics: 228 (b)
Maths: 178 (d)
Biology: 196 (c) (dropped this one)
General Studies: 234 (b)

I couldn't remember Biology or General Studies, had to consult sheets. Remembered individual Economics marks so was able to put them together for an AS score. Maths and Business I knew.

I dropped Biology and General Studies. May have been a stupid idea judging by my atrocious Maths grade for AS year, but I was able to get up to 237 (b) in Jan 07 by retaking two exams. Hopefully I should have a good grade for A2, potentially an A, with a third retake aiding me with that. My reasoning for taking Maths was that I felt I was stronger at it despite achieving a low mark, and that I had more potential over the full length of the course than Biology. That score I had from Jan retakes was better than I could think of getting in Biology.

haha, not to be rude, but I've always found it hilarious how people who've got their grades sometimes dwell on UMS marks. if you got the grade, you got the grade! Who cares what mark it was, unless you're applying to Cambridge.
At AS it's the UMS marks that count though. An A at 240 will help you a lot less than an A at 300. It's all about the UMS, every one counts for a2! At AS grades are irrelevant really.

TSR can't be good for self esteem! Most people got really high UMS!

I got something like 239, 242, 258, 227, 228 and my school still encouraged me to apply to Cambridge (with only a few other oxbridge applicants).

Those of you waiting for AS results, if you get the grade you want then be pleased I'm worried a few of you might start feeling disappointed if you don't get more the 275/300 or something.

Good luck people for the 16th

Your right - it really isn't good for the self-esteem! I dread results days when someone comes along and goes, "I got 10 As at A level!" because I just feel 10 times worse!

Anyway, got the following at AS:
Business - 270 (A)
Psychology - 224 (B)
Maths - 204 (B)
Human Biology - can't remember exactly, but it was a C overall!

Did several retakes though, so the grades were boosted. My Psychology would have gone up to 248, and my Maths went up to 230.

Good advice. I think too many people on TSR place too much emphasis on getting 90% in UMS. Although it would be nice, I'd be happy with borderline As It'd mean I could apply to the unis I want, and there's always resits to get into the higher As
