I want to study history at southampton, but the avenue campus seems far from any of the halls, which would you recommend?

Highfield Hall is literally across the road from Avenue Campus.

Archers Road halls are also about 15-20 minutes' walk away, as is Glen Eyre. Everyone living in halls also get a free bus pass so bus access from most halls to Avenue Campus is relatively easy.
