In short, I did extremely poorly in my AS exams and got:
    Biology: D
    Chemistry: D
    Geography: E
    Maths: U
Now this is a complete drop from last year when I got 5A*, 4A & 2Bs. I didn't work nearly as hard as I should have and panicked in some exams. My initial idea was to resit, however I was told I can't resit the same subjects (I would have to change subjects if I wanted to resit). I don't want to do this, completely changing everything I wanted to do. Is this a new change from the new linear exams, because I was told the same thing by a couple other colleges? Or was it never an option to resit the same AS subjects What do you recommend I should do? I'm going to work incredibly hard this year
It's usually a college policy not to let people re-do the same subjects and I know that at my college that has always been the case. I would recommend discussing with your college what your options are and take it from there.

If you're not allowed to resit those subjects, and you definitely 100% want to redo these subjects, you could always enter yourself to do the exams as a private candidate. The downsides however are that you won't be able to attend lessons in school to study the subjects, so you're going to have to do a lot of independent work or get a private tutor, which could cost quite a bit of money. Also, if your school doesn't allow you to sit the exam in their exam hall, you're going to have to find a suitable exam hall to sit your exams. And worst of all, you have to pay for each individual exam that you take, and they charge a ridiculous price (AQA charges £77 per paper). Also be cautious because some exam halls will charge you for providing you with a venue to write your exams and this could be quite a lot depending on the exam hall. Best of Luck for your future
