So I'm in Year 12 (I was the guy who was going to do all A-levels in Year 12, not doing that any more). But I'm considering still doing Maths A2. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the fact that all of the maths teachers in my school are heavily against it. My friend also tried to do AS and A2 in Year 11 without going to any of the lessons and came out with 3 A's and 3 C's. I can already get 75/100 on C3 and C4 papers though (not sure about M2, but I'm not as confident with mechanics compared to pure). I've also got the opportunity to go to Year 13 maths lessons.

Should I do it now or wait until next year?

What are you going to do next year, having done A-level Maths, hypothetically? If you can do that this year then do FM next year.. :dontknow:

I was planning on doing A2 Physics and A2 Further Maths next year. I want to study maths at university (possibly Cambridge) so I'd have to be sure of getting an A*. This year I have AS Physics (not too hard but some work involved), AS Further Maths (can already do a lot of it) and the Welsh Baccalaureate (maybe about 50%-75% the work of an AS subject). I have 10 free lessons per week this year, which seems like a lot. Next year I'll have 2 difficult A2s plus STEP papers. I'm trying to balance out the workload.

I guess the problem with leaving all of FM until next year is that AS FM lessons might clash with A2 Physics lessons.
