    OVERVIEW:
Do you find yourself in the lower-right quadrant of the political compass test? The New Conservatives is a proposed party that emphasises: Smaller government, free market capitalism, a strong military and defence policy, basic social safety nets, and personal liberty. The party believes in a complementary combination of moderate conservative, neoliberal, and classical liberal values and principles. It offers a more libertarian alternative to the Conservative party for conservatives who feel government should have less control over our lives and property, but still offers a sensible level of social security and government that Libertarians are more reluctant to provide.

Here is a working example of the party manifesto (open to criticism and subject to change) to give an insight into the polices the New Conservatives stand for:

    Crime and justice

    - Leniency for first-time offenders with an emphasis on rehabilitation before punishment.
    - Introduce a ‘three strike’ system where the maximum sentence is always issued on a person’s third criminal offense when committing the same type of crime.
    - Decriminalise personal use of all narcotics.
    - Repeal current hate speech laws and limit censorship of speech to credible threats, defamation, and incitement of violence only.

    Defence

    - Increase defence spending to 3% of GDP.
    - The party supports the continued implementation of the Trident nuclear deterrent.
    - Expand the global humanitarian role of the military.

    Economy

    - Introduce a flat income tax rate of 20% with a personal allowance of £12,000.
    - Lower corporation tax rate to 15% and VAT to 15%.
    - Abolish or substantially reduce the national minimum wage.

    Education

    - Completely remove caps on public university tuition fees for institutions that meet high academic standards.
    - Introduce a system of “national scholarships” where awards are provided to students in strong academic standing, courtesy of HM Government, with priority given to low-income students and degrees of higher economic and social importance.
    - Limit state-funded student loans to a maximum number of students annually, with priority given to low-income students and students perusing degrees of higher economic and social importance.

    Environment

    - Land, waters, and species not under private or Crown ownership are common property that should be protected by environmental law.
    - Market-based approaches such as cap and trade should be the favoured method of emission control.
    - Implement a neutral carbon tax.

    Foreign policy

    - The party supports Britain’s exit from the European Union.
    - Cut foreign aid contributions to 0.3% of GDP.
    - Take a neutral stance on all wars that do not threaten the safety and sovereignty of the United Kingdom or its NATO allies.

    Guns

    - The party supports the right to own shotguns and bolt-action rifles for the purpose of home defence, sport, and collection under a license system.
    - Allow open and concealed carry of firearms for licensed owners.

    Health

    - Gradually replace the NHS with a regulated system of private healthcare providers.
    - All citizens will be entitled to a basic national health insurance plan, and prices for certain procedures and medications will be capped at more affordable prices.
    - Limit the circumcision of minors to cases of medical necessity only.

    Welfare ands social security

    - Implement a ‘workfare’ system whereby all able-bodied benefits claimants must undertake community work.
    - Reduce the benefits cap to £24,000 per year.

Or you could just join the TSR Conservatives. This manifesto isn't particularly different to their stuff.

This is basically the liberal wing of the TSR Tories/right wing of the TSR Liberals tbh. New parties need unfilled niches. This doesn't have one.

The New Conservatives offer an alternative to these people. If there is a point between these two parties with which enough people can relate, and if enough interest can be mustered, I think that's a good reason for this new party to exist.

Get off the ground? With their level of activity, they'll need to find a way of opening the coffin and then exiting the grave before that:lol:

Meh, Galaxie seems to have given up but I suppose TC might wind up putting sufficient effort in to get them started at some point.

I wouldn't put money on it though.

Dandaman1- I admire your ambition but I have to questions - wouldn't it be better to gain some MHoC experience by joining one of the current parties and then attempting to create this and do you have at least 10 people supporting this project who would join the party?

Had to check that Jammy was not banned when i saw these policies.

At any rate this is not in the Tory self interest and the Libertarians are already proving woeful with a far better niche. A good majority of these policies are already pushed by the Tories and Liberals and although some are too far to the right economically, you'll never get enough people to join you.

In the unlikely event you do form, you should also probably be aware that the Tories will starve you of new blood. No threat to our dominion of the right will be tolerated!

You could just join the more liberal faction of the Conservatives...

One political party doesn't equal one political view.

Your views mostly align to the potential Libertarian party. It would be better for you to associate yourself with them.

This doesn't look feasible since it's too similar to the existing parties but you're welcome to join us, Dandaman1.

We in UKIP have a libertarian wing, ish. I mean, I am and a few others, but a new party? No, the conservatives and UKIP align close enough to that and frankly it would only break up the vote even more amongst the right wingers of tsr.

Few flaws in hypothesising it's me: I wouldn't call a flat tax with a personal allowance a flat tax, I would call it a duel tier tax system, which is what it is.

Since when was I in favour of legalising narcotics?

    Humanitarian, what does that mean?

That environmental policy is positively digusting, and some of it simply declares what is trivial.

The welfare policy sounds rather socialist to me
