Initiations for Rugby

Wasn't sure where to put this but as it's to do with sport I guess this section is as good as any.

I'm off to Manchester Met on Saturday and am planning on playing Rugby. I've read a few things elsewhere that rugby initiations are pretty bad - are such stories exaggerated or is there some truth in them.

I've played rugby since I was 7 and I want that to continue. I've captained my club, I've captained my school/college and I've represented my district and county at different age groups. With all respect, if someone tells me to drink a pint of piss or eat a gherkin that's been up a props arse, I'm going to tell them to get lost and I'll go and play somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy a beer and a night out as much as anyone but I've played long enough now to know where my standards are and who I need to prove something to. I'd rather not travel across Manchester looking for a club if possible and do want to play at uni.

So yeah, has anyone got any experience with such things? Thanks.
