Definitely, but when you have Caribbean parents, you essentially get Caribbean food every day. So you stay away from all that e.g. Bangers and mash.

Not at all. However I do believe many Brits including many who work in restaurants and cafes are very little imagination. That's why British food has a poor reputation for being merely meat and two veg.

I feel British SAVOURY food is definitely lacking. Nothing particularly exciting if you compare it to Asian, South American and African savoury foods. Oh, and Italian.

However, when it comes to sweet foods and puddings, especially cakes, there are some seriously creative recipes out there.

A good butcher's sausage is often popular too, although that is something I believe we share with the Germans

But British culture is truly multicultural so in my definition British Cuisine involves Things that were not Invented or Made first in Britain.

German sossidges tend to be longer and wider, with less fat in them :yep: *

I may not like most British food, however a killer shepherd's pie is something I can't say no to. :2euk48l:

Yes, the problem is that British food is based on the quality of the ingredients rather than the flair of the chef.
