    hey guys,

I didn't know what to put this under because of my current situation, I'm starting year 13 and I'm studying, Maths (Edexcel), Physics (OCR) and Business Studies (Level 3 BTEC diploma) hoping to study Economcis at university, preferably Bristol.

In my AS I achieved a C for maths
    82/100 UMS in C1
    52/100 UMS in C2
    62/100 UMS in M1
I was disappointed because I really wanted to get a B.
I also have a B in AS Business Studies ( but my school don't run the course anymore hence why I do a BTEC in business)
I will be doing my all my physics exams at the end of this year and I achieved a Dinstinction* in Business Studies.

I was just wondering if anyone else does a combination like I do and would be appreciated if they could help me out with my questions?

    1. Will I be affected heavily in my uni applications due to the fact I have a mixture of BTEC and A levels?

    2. Is it still possible for me to achieve an A in Maths or should I just focus on achieving a B?

    3. Why does economics generally have high entry requirements?

    4. Just any revision tips I can take on board for this year?

I understand I always see people on the TSR talking about As and A*s but someone told me about how TSR is a helpful source and I guessed I'm giving it ago, would be really appreciated if someone could assist me with the questions and any general info and experiences.

    thank you

No. 2/3 your A-Levels are exam based so it shouldn't be a problem, but make sure the universities you're applying to allow BTEC's just in case.

If you retake C2 and M1 then yeah a chance at an A is likely, and even if you miss out on it, you'd still get a B. So retake and aim for the A.

Revise early, always stay on top of your work, put extra hours in perfecting the D* in BTEC and ask for help on maths if you don't understand something.

Didn't really use TSR for A-Levels, I just joined it at the end of Y13 during exam season. Just ask any questions you want on the forums and people will be able to help you. Works well if you can't figure something out and can't ask your teachers at times.
