how do u say scone??

with a on or oonnee

I say it wit an on sound.

I say it to rhyme with gone. That said, I rarely do say it because I don't particularly like them.

Scon is the posh way and I say it like that out of peer pressure, but I hate it. It should totally be scone. COS THAT'S HOW IT'S SPELT.

I have to say it almost everyday at work [cafe].
So annoying. Especially when you get those stubborn customers who refuse to go with it!

I say scon... I don’t know though, thinking about it, saying scone (rhyming with cone) does seem more logical.

Is one maybe an Americanism, maybe? I was looking up the phonetics in the Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, but couldn’t make head or tail of the funny symbols. :p:
