The average for this course was £29,000 but the highest was £65,000 for a starting salary! What sort of job is this?

Some hedge fund job maybe.. or someone got really lucky and got a management role.

Perhaps the grad had previous experience, took time out to study and subsequently found a better paid position.

We have no idea about the circumstances...

So the chances of landing this sort of starting salary is really incredibly slim

Well, with inflation, maybe front office finance starting salaries will get there eventually! They're pretty much there and above with bonus (£65-95k all-in for first year is what sources mainly say) anyway.

But yeah, it's very rare to even get above £35k starting salary. And high paying gigs in general are pretty damn hard to get because of the competition.

Alternatively someone could be self-reporting an inflated or fictional salary.

For some, asking about income produces as reliable an answer as asking a man how long his penis is.

The person is probably working in investment banking or some other high finance job. I'm guessing the salary here includes the bonus he/she got.

And I also expect economics graduates from various 'target' universities would also self report the highest penis size.
