I will be taking A2 English Lit next year (currently in Year 12) and wanted to start reading books now to prepare for my coursework next year so I could find books I'm really passionate about. Does anyone have any reccomendations of two books to read and write a comparison of for my coursework? Any books you wrote about that worked really well? Hoping to get a lot of ideas so I find books I like and am comfortable writing about because I've read and enjoyed!! Thank you

Why are you doing this now? You don't have to think about this til next year. Besides I don't think you get much of a choice on what to compare.

I am in Year 13 at the moment and we have been given a list of books chosen by our teachers that we have to read. My English department has chosen to look at the theme of 'growing up' so it is compulsory for us to read The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. We then got a list of books such as: Kite Runner, Trainspotting, The Wasp Factory, The Yellow Wallpaper, A Number, Frankenstein and Fight club, which we will have to compare with Dorian Gray. I'd recommend reading The Wasp Factory (incredibly strange book), Fight club and Kite Runner.
