I've noticed a job in the local paper - 'trainee alarm engineer'. Could anyone give some general advice on what I should include in a covering letter for the job.

    Trolls stay away!

    Here's the ad:

    Trainee Alarm Engineer

Candidates must be enthusiastic, able to work as a team and preferably a non-smoker. Full security screening carried out.

Please reply initially in writing to:

    Personnel Dept...

Mirror all the things mentioned in the ad: say that your a really enthusiastic individual, you work well in teams and as requied a non-smoker. Obviously non as bluntly as that. Also consider what they want from a candidate. Its for an engineer, so you might expect an engineer to work well under pressure, logical and methodical and keep to a timed schedule.

You sure you want to go into this dreadful job? :|, judging by your grades you shouldnt be doing this.

What's so terrible about it? What's the pay likely to be once you're trained?

    EDIT - Nevermind, I don't think it's suitable - closing thread...
Did you get less than your required grades and still get into university?
