Hi, although my grades (BCC) were lower than what I hoped for I got accepted to my first choice uni Coventry. I think it's a great uni as it looks like a good city and hands nice campus and all the teachers looked great.
After getting in I phoned to defer for a year so that, as planned, I could spend the year travelling. However, I am now in a little stress about whether i will enjoy my time at this uni as it is so close to the city and looks like it lacks open space and the visual aesthetics of a more traditional uni.
Now obviously I'm not going to study at a Russell group uni or one that demands (AAA). But a friend at my school applied to Kent which is also much higher in the university table than Coventry and got accepted on the same grades as me (BCC),
Considering I am two Ums off an A in one subject and two ums off a B in another (which would give me ABC) do you guys think I should try and get this and try and get into a different university by retaking and reapplying this year? I really liked Coventry when I visited it on the open day so obviously if I reapply I would lose my place I presume?
If anyone who studied at Coventry has anything to add that would be great 😊
Gap year should I retake? Watch

Do you and your teachers think it's realistic for you to achieve better grades? If so then go for it.
