    C6H5 is a phenyl substituent located on the 2 position of the ethanol (technically it should be 2-phenylethan-1-ol)

    But in the diagram, I see that it is attached to the first carbon of enthanol though

    The number 1 carbon is the one with a hydroxy attached.
