YouTubers are trash! 16 year olds trying to make a living off daily vlogging!

Right. YouTubers are pissing a lot of people off. Take Saffron Barker, someone who thinks college isn't for her because she's resorted to posting videos on a website - labelling such an activity as a full time job. However, others, such as Eve Bennett (evebennettx - she's on TSR) don't see YouTube as a long term solution to earning money. Eve runs a revision channel too, which evidently is an act of philanthropy; amazingly she attained around 10-11 A*s at GCSE. Conversely, Saffron receives an income for posting pointless vlogs about her and fellow YouTuber (her boyfriend) Jake Mitchell. Eve committed to a similar thing over the summer but now she is at Sixth Form working her socks off whilst Saffron Barker posts vlogs for money! Just do porn!

I have lots of respect for Eve but none for Saffron. Do you think, at 16, YouTube should be an option (obviously as a job?) Should I start YouTube?

I've watched Saffrons videos before. She said college will take time out of her day. She won't have time for sponsors. Saffron said she'll go to college next year if you tube doesn't work out.

    Stop crying, it's her choice.
And if she's getting enough money to make a living it means there's demand for it, so as far as I'm concerned she's earned it.

YouTubers can make a living out of eating sweets and doing some stupid challenges for kids to watch.
There are people who work hard on every video (e.g. Casey Neistat) whereas some are absolute liars and still got famous from faking their way to the top (Vitaly, Fousey, Roman). That's internet for you! Instagram "stars" living from posting their nearly naked photos and product advertisements.

Your main argument is because someone is getting paid from youtube and this person who got 10a*'s at gcse's isn't earning money it isn't right?

To make money from youtube you have to produce good content right. Also to product good content you have to put more effort as well, getting 10 a*'s at gcse's is a lot easier then getting a career from youtube. Also according to social blade saffron earns 60k a year with her smallish channel. If she continues doing this for another 5 years cant she just put a downpayment on a property... Also how do you know youtube is not a long term job?

To do youtube you have to be special you cant pay your way in and you cant even get shoutouts from other you tubers as many people have given people shoutouts and hasn't worked for them

I think you are jealous that you're probably going to get average a level results and go into an average university and get into debt whilst this girl same age as you is earning probably your peak salary.... not even being rude but being truthful

That doesn't change my response, age is irrelevant - your throwing hate over her choices, she is female and is 16

The only vlogger I happily watch is Casey Neistat, he balances his own business with daily vlogs, he has my respect.
    Other vloggers are just irritating
