I had got a D in English three times before I passed it. I did a higher and a foundation before I did a November on which was my third attempt and I did foundation which I got a D. I think that if you are confident then do the higher exam. I wasn't ready for the November exam I did as I had a few lessons and when I did the following summer exam I had no lesson and did no revision as no teachers helped me. so if you feel you are going to be ready for this exam do it.

I would be tempted to go for the foundation.
