So I have a funny way of texting. My main interest is asking them questions to see their take on situations and in general about their character. However I'm sort of very limited in how I conduct myself through text, there's hardly any emotion and stuff, I've been told I make it look like an interview.

When a conversation seems to be struggling to stay afloat, I pop in a question to give us something to talk about, it doesn't always work, sometimes it makes things more awkward, and boom, I've dug the little connection we've had into a hole too deep to save it.

I'm always driven by the idea that if I don't make an effort I can't complain that nobody enjoys talking to me, but I don't think this is about effort, it is about the technique of that effort.

Anyways yeah, I'm sort of stuck in my own bubble here with this, need some outside insight.

Have you met with this people or is it just an online thing? If you met them, maybe try asking them. I know it sounds really awful and emeberessing but it's really not. I think your friends will be glad to know that you do this kind of sacrifice to continue taking to them. And you also will know what makes your texting not enjoyable if it really is like this.
