# How to get better at Maths? Watch

1. I'm currently in year 11 and my maths exam is in January. From years 7- 9, i always got an A* in my end of year exams but in my year 10 exam I only got an A. What tips would you recommend so i can get back on track and make sure I get that A* in January? And also, should i let one test result worry me?

I do Maths Edexcel IGCSE
2. no you shouldn't, but stop and pause for a moment and see what's changed and see what you're doing differently now to what you were doing when you achieved all those A*s
3. Keep practicing. Doing lots and lots of past papers always helps, refer to the textbook at times when you don't understand the theories. But at the end, the only way you're gonna get familiar with the calculations is through repetition.
4. i advise to do revise on subject that you are struggling and even though you still dont understand, Go to your teacher and ask them to explain to you 1 to 1. As no longer you can currently get grade A*-C its the new spec and new grades from 9-1. Studies suggest that only 3% will only grade 9. what exam board do you do

9-1 isn't in place yet. Y11 next year will do that. For now, it's still A*-C.

Use CorbettMaths or examsolutions. Find the topics you're struggling with and work on them from there.
