Dentistry work experience

    Where should i do work experience if i want to become a dentist? only 16 btw so i dont think i would be allowed in a dentistry practice

    that depends on where you live and what you can access. your age shouldnt be an issue as health and safety means you can only observe as a work experience student anyway. Most unis require work experience in an NHS practice, some say a mix or one of NHS and private. i'd aim for a minimum of 10 days to give you the most options. It could be either a locally owned or corporate, whatever you can get into. If you are in year 12 now you have plenty of time. It would look impressive if you could go somewhere over a long period of time e.g 1 afternoon a week for a few months, to show commitment. I havent done this myself but if you looked into community or hospital dentistry, or specialist areas (as well as your NHS dental practice which is the only specified requirement), then that would really set you apart even if you only had a couple of days doing it, to show you had really considered everything.
