Has anyone ever had work experiencein the british embassay in a foreign country?

i want to email the embassies in the places i will be this summer, do you think it is likely that they will give me a placement?

I worked in the British Embassy in Moscow last summer - i do however have connections in High places :biggrin: - you might be berter getting in contact with the FCO at King Charles Street

I dont reckon embassies would do work ex. becuase you'd need a sercurity clearance by who? MI5? and that would take time if its anything to go by ASIO.

A few people in my school went to embassies of a Spanish speaking country... I've got a feeling that they had the details on a database at school, so someone a few years ago had the connections...

clrearance takes about six weeks for normal people applying for jobs and you have to fill out a massive questionnaire with questions like. ' have you ever conspired to bring down the governemnt', 'have you ever been part of a terrorist organisation'

Sounds about right, My dad had a meeting with the Prime Minster and some other cabinet jobbies two days ago so I wanted to go an linger in the ahllway and have a stickeybeak but I wasnt even allowed in the building becuase I didnt have an ASIO clearance. Bloody Hell eh?!

I worked in the British Embassy in Vienna, however I was not working for the Embassy.
Although I'm pretty confident that if I were to ask I could've got it :wink:
