Check this out. This is the genius to take Labour forward? He, and so much of Labour establishment, doesn't even understand what's happened with all of what should and could be Labour voters across swathes of England they have ignored. They did this over Scotland, and now it's the exact same thing, over different issues, with Wales and swathes of England outside of London and the SE.

Clueless.

Hehe. One candidate couldn't lead a cow to the milking shed, and the other hasn't got the brains he was born with. Good times for the Tories.

You're rather regressive.

When an idiot like Owen Smith is an alternative to the walking disaster that is Corbyn Labour is in real danger. Although I suppose it could be worse, John McDonnell could be Shadow Chancellor....

It would take Corbyn to make Owen Smith look credible.

Referendums are bloody awful, I wouldn't endorse another one even if I did think the result would be different. The only way brexit should be nullified is through parliament- eg a pro EU party being elected at a general election.

Of course now the usual suspects have continued their inevitable March of retardation- Farage and The Express are now claiming that the EU is declaring war on the UK for acting in its interests, having a credible team at the negotiating table and knowing what the hell they are talking about.

People are about to discover that the out of touch, neo liberal establishment are actually not as bad as the conspiracist, swindling, mobsters that are gripping the west.

The reason is that Owen Smith isn't a populist.

The reason is that Owen Smith isn't a populist.
When the public chose Thatcher and Reagan, their instincts, 'populism' was right.

Now suddenly they are idiots because a fat generation, complacent and self-seeking, endlessly self-satisfied, are not getting their way.

The public is once more right about this paradigm shift.

Labour under this mentality will keep treating what should be it's supporters with a mix of paternalistic condescension and contempt. So they are doomed to fail under Smith.

No, it shouldn't- you can't have referendums and ignore them, and there is no party that represents half of the country in wanting to leave in their bulk of opinion, besides UKIP. The entire media would support the main parties who all think independence for the UK is the height of stupidity, because they are so visionless and gutless, and it would be unrepresentative.

The second bit is just grandiose hyperbole and rhetoric. What on earth do you mean by monsters? How are people being swindled anymore than they were already? That is just pure sour grapes.

Or vice versa. What rot...the media coverage is biased and ludicrous.

Smith said we should get ISIS round the table. He makes stupid ideas like the wealth tax, actually punishing people for acumen and saving whilst not pushing up income tax or corporate tax instead. If Corbyn came out with that diiocy he would be hammered. We saw the exact same thing with Brown and Blair.

The personality contest determines what the media will accept as sensible, and to a large extent how much they are on the side of financial establishment, and the modern day aristocracy. The pirnciple this country runs on never really changes.

Referendums are not binding. if they were that would be undemocratic. By that logic we should never have had the referendum as it goes against the one in 1975.

Why are you so anti the media? The sun, Mail et Al voted Out. Smith comes out with nonsense and is roundly mocked even by supporters. Corbyn comes up with ludicrous ideas and his supporters either deny he said it or accuse people of smears.
