I think they are all good, but I want to know what other people's opinions are. MULTI CHOICE POLL.

I am also looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077 next year.

A few of the options aren't open world games. The best imo is The elder scrolls, oblivion in particular.

I really wouldn't say that The Last of Us, Halo, CoD, Uncharted, or Resident Evil are open world games. Sure, they have large levels that can be navigated through in different ways and explored, but they are all distinct and separate from each other. Open world, in my view, refers to games with environments that are much larger than those of the games mentioned above, in which the map is continuous and the player can access most parts of it at any time without going through loading screens.

My favourite game is RDR (shame it only launched on PS3!), even though my favourite franchise is undoubtedly GTA.

[edit] You may wanna include Deus Ex and Far Cry in there.

Loved RDR. I just really wish I could play on PC. GTA is one of the best though imo

    Too similar to Elder Scrolls.

    Why does that disqualify it?

What kind of argument is that? They're two separate games, with years between their release dates and entirely different characters, worlds, and storylines.

One is a deep and rich RPG with a large unique world and good and compelling storytelling. The other is the Elder Scrolls.

Witcher 3 by far. It's one of, if not the, best open world RPG ever. Only classics like Morrowind reach the RPG quality of TW3.

Ahh, I've still got to do the challenges on that one. I kinda played it like a linear game until it forces you not to.

    RDR & GTA

From the list above probably a tie between The Elder Scrolls and Red Dead Redemption.

Once it's released I get a feeling that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild will jump to the top of my list, from all the E3 gameplay it looks fantastic.
