Hi i have a big problem whenever i speak to anyone like my mum or friends my mind wanders im always thinking about something. Im going uni this Monday i dont want my mind to wander in the lectures . I literally cant concentrate on anything i cant pay attention.

Throughout my high school years never ever once did i focus in lesson because my mind would wander. I didn't do too good in my GCSE'S i got a grade C in english and maths i could of done much better. When i read a book after like 2 minutes my mind wanders thinking about so many different things. Iv never ever read a full book ever even though i wanted to .

How do i stop this how do i focus pay attention . I cant be like this in uni or else il fail .

Any tips on how to concentrate more effectively

Instead of not letting your mind wander, try and make it wander to things relevant to what you are reading/listening to. If you are reading a book try to imagine with as much detail as possible. If you are in a lecture think about how what you are learning about relates to other things you have learnt about.

Get an elastic band and start pinging it on your wrists everytime you wonder off to la la land
