Tips for gaining a Distinction at Masters level

Hello, i'm Starting my Masters in Applied Psychology. I would love to hear from previous Pyschology students regarding advice on getting those top marks.
I'm not a Psychology student, but I did get a Masters Distinction, mostly due to my Long Study.

It's important to remember that it's not just your coursework and your Long Study that counts: your teaching staff need to be positively disposed towards you, and that will only develop if you contribute a lot to the classwork, take a genuine interest, and can demonstrate reliability and commitment.

As for the coursework, reach beyond the reading lists, engage in informed debate with your lecturer, and challenge your own assumptions.

With your Long Study, it's all about methodology, so make sure it's watertight. You also get huge kudos for generating new knowledge at Masters level, which is what I did, so it's really worth finding an existing study that you develop further, rather than starting from a blank sheet.
