My bf says that he wants to go in the Navy, which is great he has found something he wants to do but im worried about the relationship. Ive not told him this yet (though i mentioned being him away a lot) but ive never understood long distance relstionships where 2 people rarely see each other. We wouldnt see each other at weekends even would we? Just wanted advice

Like you said, you should be happy for him that he's found something he wants to do with his life so young. Not many people do. If your relationship is strong enough, you will get through it, if not, you will both move on and meet new people. My partner doesn't work away but I don't see a lot of him due to shift patterns, I do get really lonely at times but I have friends and my dog to keep me company. Long distance doesn't work for some people but my friend was in a relationship with a girl who lived in America for 2 years until she came here, they're still together now. You just have to make the best of the situation and if it doesn't work out atleast you can say you tried.
