Size: 37.0 KBHi, can someone tell me if I have analysed this compound correctly? So the question asks about the H NMr for this molecule with D2O added. So I said that there only 1 peak which would be a triplet peak with area of 4. This is be at 2-3 ppm. The answer says that there is no splitting, which confuses me so much...

    What has gone wrong?

For A Level you can assume that chemically equivalent environments do not couple.

In reality this is not always the case, but you don't have to worry about that at this level.
