Is it normal to feel down before going away? My mate I am going with has been a bit cool with me this week so I am worried I have done somthing to annoy him, I am also worried about the flight and getting everything packed etc.

All my enthusisasm for this holiday seems to have gone at the moment.

i normally feel down after a holiday :frown:
just think about the great time you're going to have next week
No, its not normal, you usually feel depressed after holiday, not before.

lol how typical of you, managing to get depressed about a holiday. In answer to your question, no, it's not normal, you should just relax, everything will be fine and you'll have a great holiday; that's plenty to be happy about.

I guess I am worried about the variables involved:

1)why is my mate being funny, is it just my imagination?
2)My dads full of a cold and he is taking us to Liverpool airport on Sunday if he can't take us we are stranded.
3)Waiting around at the airport.

I will try and talk to my mate on MSN tonight and ask him whats up.

I agree, I'm usually upbeat at the start of the holidays, proper looking forward to it.

Trade - You should see a doctor to sort out your depression problems.

I was fine a few days ago, I was really looking forward to it, I often get like that though, really look forward to somthing but then when the time comes I worry about the practicle things but when I get there I really enjoy it.

I will tell him if we argue just to do our seperate things for a bit. I know people get touchy in the heat.

1)its just your imagination
2)if the worst comes to the worst, get a taxi/train/bus
3)the wait shouldnt be too long/boring (unless crappy airline) - you can always get a drink somewhere

If my dad can't take us then we will be stranded or will have to go the night before, we have to be in Liverpool Airport in Runcorn at 4:00am, its a good 40 miles away from me.

I am just being silly I think. I will probably be dancing around looking foward to it tomorrow, I have just realised the suns gone in and its now very cloudy, maybe thats why I am feeling down.

3) Ever heard of a little thing called a book?

I don't want to mention it to him as he think I a right idiot if it turns out he wasn;t being funny.
2) As I said above its too far, so I can do only do that if I have several hours notice.
3) Yeah I am taking books with etc.

It could be the withdrawal symptoms of not being on UKL are just too much to bare  . Enjoy your holiday.

Lol I doubt I will miss this place at all  I remember when I went on holiday last year accross Europe I didn;t think about the internet once, I was even in a cafe with internet access and I wasn't tempted.

During this holiday I don't want to have to touch a bloody PC

I will miss the people on here, just not the site or my computer

Although if Llroet turns out to be a whole I may be on UKL all day anyway, but at least while I am Barcelona I will have better things to do  It has more bars per 1km sq than any other city in Europe  I have a horrible feeling I am going get a few hangovers on this trip

I am feeling a tad better now actually, thank you people.

PS I think depression was a too strong word, I should not have used it.

Just chill round the house. Get everything you'll need ready to take. Speak to your mate and get whatever (probs nothing) it is sorted out and finally make sure you don't get mugged

Sort the problem with the friend out before you go otherwise there will be some very spoilt days (I can see it now... he wants to stay on and you want to go home and he rabbits on about you holding him back... everything turns sour). I don't mean that in a discouraging way!

I will hope he is on MSN tonight, I phoned him today when he was at work, I hinted to him whats up with him but he just said "nout" he could just be bussy at work I guess.

As for getting mugged, I have survived Moss Side and Lambath in London so Barcelona shouldn't be a problem, I will just be careful like I always am.

We didnt't argue much last year but then it was that cool week we had, so it was only 20c in Paris and Amsterdam. In Barcelona its likely to be upto 35c so tempers my fly, this is quite normal though. If I sense that happens I will just say I want to go for a walk alone to avoid an argument.
