I'm going to this event thing and they're asking attendees to wear business casual attire.

So I googled this but it looks exactly the same as smart casual. What's the difference between business casual and smart casual?!?!

Does anyone know what to wear for 'business casual', oh I'm a guy btw.

    Thanks

Smart casual - jeans are acceptable.

    Business casual - they're not.

So everything is the same, apart from leg wear.

Would chinos be okay or do I have to go with khakis

Black trousers (or black chinos, maybe even navy) with an open collar shirt (top button open) is my business casual
Smart casual is usually a pair of jeans/chinos with a casual shirt rather than formal shirt, with the top button done up.
