The book and I both have the same answers, but we have used very slightly different methods and I'd like to understand their method.
can someone show me how
1 - tan(x)/ 1 + tan(x)
is the same as
cos(x) - sin(x)/ cos(x) + sin(x)

Multiply top and bottom of the first expression by cos x.
