Hi Guys, I really want to take a year out to do a lot of travelling. I didn't have the opportunities or funds to do this prior to uni but now I do have the money I would love to take a year out after graduation.

I have been applying for jobs (Big4) so I was wondering whether they'd be cool with me deferring a year if I was offered a job? Or would it be better to just apply for jobs the following year instead?

Generally, there isn't a deferring process for jobs. It's very unlikely that somewhere would agree to hold a job offer until the following year - they can't be sure that you're still available and committed (and if so, you'll tell them at short notice so they don't have time to recruit a replacement), and it's possible they may not have funding for new starters, or the job description may have changed (look at BHS - nobody expected it to go, but it did).

So you'll have to apply the year after.
