I'm in school doing GCSE, and I have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh bronze award, However Im not sure if my parents will allow me as it would get in the way of revision and tests. I have heard money is a large factor too. I would love to be a dentist when I grow up, so would DofE affect my CV a lot?

Having / Not having DofE won't make a huge difference in your application. It is a nice thing to have though. Discuss it with your parents.

It's not really a big deal if you don't have it. But, like the above poster said, it is quite nice to have.

As far as I know, DofE is very common nowadays. Basically everyone in my year apart from several people have completed bronze, some onto silver and some are considering gold.

It is definitely a nice thing to put on your CV, as it helps demonstrate leadership skills, teamwork skills and communication skills.

However, it will not make much of an impact to your application. I would just go for the experience anyway
