Is there a particular kind of university you would like to go to, would you like a city campus or somewhere smaller?

depending on the type of university you want you could try Durham, Exeter, Lancaster and Kent with either Cambridge, Warwick or York. You could substitute Kent with Cardiff if you do not consider that too close to home

Where do you want to live for the next 3-4 years? Also look at the course conent. Not all history courses are the same.
