So I chose to study Business Management with the Open Uni for 3 (relevant to this post) reasons:

    1. I manage a pub.
    2. I was home schooled and due to no formal qualifications at GCSE level, I was unable to obtain any at a higher level. So overall I came out of education with nothing and no real opportunities.
    3. I just want to go to a brick uni, and this was the only affordable way that didn't take about 4 years prior to actually going to uni.

However, I'm barely into it and I'm already finding it dull. I don't want to stay in Business Management, I hate it for a job and I find it boring as a subject. I've made a big mistake choosing this.

I expect it's far too late to change my course to something I would enjoy now. What I'm wondering is, is there any chance I could stick out the first year and, assuming I do okay and can meet all other prerequisites, apply to Primary Teaching QTS? Or is that a massive no-go with my background/degree choice combo? If it makes a difference, I'd be aiming to go to Brighton, as it's my local.

It's always better to finish the year with credits and then move on. You can apply for whatever you want as long as you meet the entry requirements. Make sure you check these.
