    so basically,
how should i structure my ps?

    i'm thinking:
    intro
an article I read and expands on how im interested
    lecture1 and lecture 2
    volunteering and other info
how my subjects have helped me develop skills
    book
    ending

    what do you think?

"how my subjects have helped me develop skills " is a complete waste of space - links will either be obvious (and so not needed) or tenuous (and so not needed).

Whether the rest of this structure is going to work will depend a lot on what you're actually including - as you've written it seems like quite a lot of content to fit within the line limits - that will risk making your PS very much like a list of "things I've done" rather than an explanation of what you find interesting and enjoyable or what you've learned from your experiences/studies.
