I am currently on a job that I started in May, working in finance. I like it, but I feel that I want to give it a shot to banking/consulting again, as I did last year but didn't make it.

My question is, whether there is a level of risk of doing that in terms of connection between HR departments. I was thinking of not including my current job on my CV because it is on the same industry and the companies that I send my applications to might reach out to my current company for any reason. The gap would not look good but I'd certainly prefer it than getting exposed and losing what I already have.

Do you find that fact likely to happen at all?

    Not likely to happen.

Recruiters/HR have no time to do what you are suggesting and would only get employment references at the point of offer. You'd have to provide contact details before they contacted anyone.

And you should include your current job.
