Anyway, apparently exam scripts from one end of the country go to the opposite end to avoid cheating!
Yeah, that is true. My English Language teacher is an A Level examiner, and she has to mark papers from up north. What about those poor souls in the Midlands, I say!

Back to seriousness, and I've been looking forward to results day ever since I finished my final exam of the summer. But this thread, introducing the thought that somewhere, be it a desk or vault or computer system, my A Level grades have been calculated and finalised, makes me feel very strange and nervous!

They were marked weeks ago. Our results slips will probably have been printed in the last few days.

I wonder how long the examiners take to mark the AEA exams. It just doesn't seem that long ago that I sat the French one, and now, my paper has been marked, and given a grade:eek:

I'm not sure if I saw wrongly, but during the exam period, I was at the school's office, and saw some maths exam papers on the desk about a metre away, wrapped up. They were only being sent about 3 miles down the road. Now, whether that was just to send them to the royal mail depot, I don't know, but surely, the examiner who was marking GCSE Maths papers didn't just live 5 minutes away by car:afraid:

I heard examiners aren't allowed to be in the same LEA.

Hmmm....well, I don't know why the consignments had those addresses on:confused: It baffled me at the time as well, and I was trying to tell my friends....and they were like "Paul...shut up!"

I didn't think they went by Royal Mail - thought they used a courrier (spelling?).

Anyway, I will attempt track, but not too bothered. My main internet destination before collecting results will be the AQA website. It says they are publishing the grade boundaries on results day, so I want to check that to see if there is any hope (i.e. very low raw marks for nice grades!) before collecting my results.
