Quadruple bypass surgery

My Grandad's having this operation on Wednesday but I'm taking him in tomorrow so he can be admitted, have a few tests done and get settled in a bed. We're all worried, its just starting to hit me now that he's going to have it done. My Nan wants to go in to see him after hes had the operation but I'm not so sure its a good idea. Just wondering if anyone else has a family member who's had the surgery and what we can expect to happen to him afterwards in terms of recovery.

My aunt had a triple by pass 6 ish years ago.. I don't remember how long it took her to recover but she is totally normal now.

I think it would depend on how old the person is having the op!

my granda had triple or quadruple (cant remember exactly) over 10 years ago and he's still kicking

gets out of puff a lot easier these days but is by no means feeble or on his last legs just yet
My grandads had a bypass surgery.
He should be fine, if anything the anesthetic is the major worry here.
yeah, my mum's friend had life saving heart surgery 2 weeks ago and its the anesthetic that you should worry about, not the op. your grandad will be very sore and tired for quite a while afterwards, but i'm sure he'll be fine. these surgeons are very skilled and they know what they're doing. try and keep busy whilst he's having the op to keep your mind off it. xx
