Here's a humorous take on our election:

http://www.jibjab.com/

I know I'm a little off-topic in posting this and should be arguing the merits of both candidates, but this was too funny to keep to myself.

hmm, interesting that 100% of the Bush voters here have contributed to the thread and only 20% of all opposition voters.

I have to disagree, he was way out of line when he swore at Senetor Leahy.

Looking at this list it seems that just as many notable presidents were democrats. I don't think it is safe to exclude someone just because he is a republican.
Quite right. What party or school of thought a politician belongs to doesnt determine their quality or merit - to put it bluntly, it doesnt matter if youre a republican/democrat/green/liberal/conservative/socialist etc, if youre an ******** youre an ******** regardless of political persuasion.

Never a Republican... EVER...
Aww who gives a damn? Seriously.. Most people I know don't vote based on political party, they vote based on who they think will get the job done. Who cares if the person is Republican or Democrat as long as they take care of the needs of the people?

Because the different political parties have different views on different policies its not just about getting the job done

I'd rather vote for a person based on their ability, but yeah, if you vote for a person whose FP is absolutely horrific.. just because they have an excellent ability to get jobs done.. it would be completely asinine.. so I guess.. political parties.. make sense.. in some ways.

well i know that vienna will kill me for this however george bush hardly shows too much ability. without referring to the policies etc... his bushism which some people are so fond of do show him to be rather an idiot

I'd prefer Bush to Kerry anyday.
Bush is a good man, he's not completely incompetant, and he tries with all he can.
The same could not be said of kerry.

I would disagree, i would rather have a president who has at least a decent grasp of the english language.
