Hi I'm in y10 and I picked the following subjects Rs,History,French and Drama but now I would like to change French to health and social care I'm finding French really hard and I don't want to fail. I think I would enjoy health and social more looking at past papers and questions but isn't French more useful in life? I'm really struggling and I don't know which to choose I would like to be a children's nurse, social worker or a lawyer so health and social might help for two of those jobs. French is hard and I don't want to fail but if can raise up your job salary etc. Really appercaite if people help x

The only advice I can give you, with making any academic choices is that a little bit of a struggle is understandable and normal especially since we never know what is coming in our next stage of education. If you are seriously finding French very hard and are only thinking about the money aspect you may be disappointed if you don't do as well as money would need you to do. In that case, I would suggest changing to Healy and social or just any subject that you enjoy and are reasonably good at. hope this helped

What is it about French that you're finding difficult? French is considered more useful, but if you're really not enjoying it and think you'd be able to do better in another subject then go for it.

French might be beneficial for a career in law, but only if you get a good grade. French is also useful for University as if you get a C in it, History and Double Science as you will have an EBacc (which they like). Other than that, GCSE French really won't impact on your career or earning potential. If you are struggling and feel Health and Social care would be more enjoyable change as soon as possible so you don't miss too much content.
