Any advice?

    • Thread Starter

Starting uni soon and to be fair I'm not the most confident person ever. I'll go somewhere where there are new people and think I'm being sociable and friendly but then end up feeling ignored after a while in the group. I feel like this might stop me from getting to know people and making friends. Any advice on what to do?

Be interested in the people you are meeting. Ask them questions. Let them talk. Listen. I find talking to folks who reply with one word answers or don't ask questions in response really hard work and generally give up after a while.

Good luck and have fun. Making friends takes time. Don't panic if it doesn't happen straight away.
