    Hey guys, I am a sixth form student who will soon be applying to University and I was wondering if I would be accepted in the Foundation Year Life Science course. The current A levels I am taking are Psychology, English Language and English Literature. At GCSE I achieve a B and C in double award science however in triple award science achieved a D. In Maths I also achieved a grade B. Would the D ruin my chances of getting accepted.
    * Help needed ASAP

    Thanks in advance x

    Have you checked the entry requirements and match your grades with them?

    I have but I don't understand if I meet the specific requirements as some universities state A*-C at GCSE. However I'm wondering if that one D will put me at a disadvantage :/

    Depnds on the uni but the a*-c is often in english and math only at gcse if you are doing foundation year or alternative entry route to the degree. Least thats what all the unis i applied for said about foundation year (i ended up on an access course but that was nothing to do with gcse requirements). Call round some unis and ask, theycare really quite helpful and you dont even need to give your name to ask. :-)

    Which foundation degree were you hoping to take? My only worry is that this is a science related degree so that one D may put me down even though I have a B and C in Double Award..
    Thanks for your help though x

    That's awesome! I've always been interested in biomedical and also what is an access course? Can you do that without having any science qualifications at a level?
