Hi Guys, I am a y13 student and I am about to apply to university, I would like to do Mechanical engineering at uni and I am currently predicted 1A* (Physics) 2A's (Chem and Maths).

I saw that Imperial College had a BEng course for 3 years with those predicted grades but the MEng Course was 4 years and with 2A*s and 1 A.

Is there a big diffference between MEng and BEng and could I later do the MEng at the same uni after completing BEng?

The MEng is a master's, whereas the BEng is a bachelors. The MEng is more employable - in fact many companies only recruit MEng graduates, but usually once you're in you can switch freely between BEng and MEng, providing you meet the grades (which depend on the university).

If you graduate with a BEng you can't then do an MEng - it would have to be an MSc. But this is more of a technicality - the key is that both MEng and MSc are master's degrees.

It's possible for you to convert from BEng to MEng at year 2 with 2:1.
