Hi Leicester have a new scoring system which I am confused about.

I have achieved A levels of AAA and in the past the scoring system for people which achieved results already was an advantage.

But on their new system if you have achieved A levels then, they give you the same gcse score whether you have an A or A* at gcse.

This means for me personally who has 7A* 3A at gcse and 3A at A level I would have 2 less points than I would have if I had just completed my AS levels.

The last few years it has been the opposite. Basically on the system they have listed if you have achieved your A levels then you would need 3A* at A2 to be competitive. I just think this is wrong. I have e-mailed them for clarification.

Either they want to discourage gap year people applying or have made a mistake .

I'd say with an academic score of 21/24 you're still pretty competitive! Can I ask what your UKCAT score was?

My UKCAT was only 650 - I needed to score more on the academics. Decided not to apply too risky,

Per their admissions update site, they sent out some decisions starting today! Let's see if it's the same this year.

Did not apply as basically if you have achieved A levels they mark GCSE A* the same as A. I got 8A* and 3 As. But only AAA at alevel. Would have better points if they just used my GCSEs.
