An enzyme in some bacteria catalyses the linking together of polymer chains in their cell walls. This makes the cell wall strong.
a) is this an example of a breakdown or synthesis reaction? Explain your answer

Can someone explain this question to me? you don't have to properly answer the question, I'd rather do it myself but I don't get the question.

The question is saying that the enzyme helps in the building up process of the polymer chains
