applying to university of oxford

    • Thread Starter

i am in AS right now and i study law business and english lit+lang
i am hoping to apply to oxford when its time to go uni
however my gcse grades were rubbish as i did not revise
    i got 1A* 1A 1B 6C's and 1D
    absolutely rubbish
so because of my gcse grades my predicted grades for college are C's and oxford needs AAA for me to do law there
so can i still get into oxford if i get AAA? im willing to work hard as this is a matter of my career
and does oxford look at gcse grades?

Unfortunately Oxford place a lot of emphasis on the number of A* grades at GCSE and without sounding too harsh I don't think you stand much of a chance.

Alternatively Cambridge look mainly at AS grades, so if you take AS exams at your school/college and get high UMS points you could stand a chance there.

With law it is also vital you get as much work experience as possible so contact your local court and solicitors to try and organise work experience before you become to busy with exams.

    Good luck.
Do you have exam superstitions?
