I've hated history for a while, I took it for a stupid reason and suffered all throughout year 10 , I wanted the ebacc but I don't think it's worth it now but I want to do medicine and I'm not the brightest, should I swith to hospitality as the course only takes 1 year to do and drop history which I don't understand and now have a stigma about because of the experience I've had?

Have you spoken to your teachers about it?

I'm not sure if you could realistically cope with medicine if you openly admit that you're not the brightest, or that GCSE History is too much.

Is hospitality even a GCSE? If it's not, then I doubt it would be considered, since many schools don't take into account vocational qualifications.

Will your school let you? If they do then I would go for it. The Ebacc is just something for the league tables, it doesn't really matter if you don't get it.

no, my last teacher wasn't very helpful and seemed to get annoyed when I asked questions and my current teacher was best friends with her, the time when I could've done something about it the other teacher refused to give me my book so I don't see the point with the time I have left

I didn't like history GCSE either I absolutely hated source questions and really worried about how they might affect my result. But I stuck at it and just tried my best and I came out with a*. If you tell yourself that you will do the best you can, perhaps your result will surprise you like mine did ! Saying that if you REALLY hate it then perhaps hospitality might be better suited however history is seen by universities as a more challenging subject due to the essay side of it. Ultimately though, your happiness is more important
